In a letter taking issue with Jerry Falwell and Cal Thomas for supporting nonviolent civil disobedience at abortion clinics, C.L. Richardson suggested that he “would be more impressed if instead of going to jail, the protesters offered to adopt the unwanted children of the women seeking abortion” (Sept. 6). He asked how many children Falwell had adopted.

You may be interested to know that Falwell’s ministry operates the Liberty Godparent Home in Lynchburg, Va., where pregnant teen-agers can come and live free of charge while continuing their education and bringing their babies to term. Within a matter of weeks, the capacity of this home will increase from 18 to 60 girls. For every available baby, we have nearly 100 qualified applications for adoption!
