DHAKA, Bangladesh —
A Bangladeshi air force corporal shot dead eight people and wounded 50 others when he opened fire with a sub-machine gun in a mosque and then killed himself, military sources said today.
The officials declined to identify the man and could not provide a motive for Tuesday night’s killings. Police at Jessore air base in western Bangladesh said the shootings took place during night prayers when the mosque was crowded with off-duty soldiers.
