Silent-movie fans can get the newly restored, orchestrally scored versions of “Ben Hur” (1926) and “The Big Parade” (1925) this week (MGM/UA, $29.95 each). This first version of “Ben Hur” contains an early color scene. Not quite in the same class as a classic but with cult followings are “Thunder Road” (MGM/UA, $59.95), a 1958 drama about moonshiners starring Robert Mitchum and son Jim, and “Little Murders” (Key, $79.98), the Jules Feiffer black-humored satire on detectives and life in the rotten Big Apple.

From the 1988 crop comes “Biloxi Blues” (MCA, $89.95, PG-13), Neil Simon’s autobiographical comedy about boot camp, “Sticky Fingers” (Media, $89.95, PG-13), a female buddy comedy/adventure, and--to complete the anatomy--”Rented Lips” (IVE, $79.95, R), Robert Downey’s comedy about two desperate documentary makers.
