Two prominent, if recently transplanted, Idahoans--pop singer Peter Cetera and actress Pamela Sue Martin--have testified in opposition to plans to build a nuclear weapons plant in the state. Cetera, the former bassist-vocalist of Chicago (and now a solo act) who lives in Boise, spoke at the public hearing recently and urged the federal government to “stop making our state a nuclear dumping ground for the rest of the country. We have enough bombs.” Martin, a former star on “Dynasty” and a Sun Valley area resident, said she was testifying against the project to call attention to what she termed the “horrifying effects of the nuclear industry.”
