Humorist Art Buchwald appeared on CBS’ “This Morning” show Wednesday and said he was representing the “little guy” in his $5.5 million suit against Paramount Pictures over the origins of Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America.” Buchwald called the $5.5 million a “token fee,” saying “you can’t even buy an American painting with that.” He also confirmed that he will emcee a dinner tribute for Gulf & Western chief Martin Davis next week: “Only in America can a plaintiff honor a defendant at a dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria,” he said.
