Galleria Adds More Holiday Parking

The Glendale City Council voted Tuesday to provide additional free parking for Galleria holiday shoppers at a garage at 505 N. Brand Blvd.

The garage, which has 1,150 parking spaces, will be open Mondays through Fridays from 6 to 10 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A shuttle will take shoppers between the garage and the Galleria every 10 minutes. The extra parking and the shuttle service will be available through Dec. 30.

Susan Shick of the Glendale Redevelopment Agency said the city will spend about $30,000 on the parking and shuttle service and will hire additional security guards for the garage. If demand for parking remains high, the service may be extended to Jan. 30.
