College Basketball Roundup : Valley Rallies to Force Overtime but Falls to Golden West, 107-93
Joey Manliguis scored 7 consecutive points preceding Tory Stephens’ layup at the buzzer to lift Valley College into a tie with Golden West, but the Monarchs, who lost 4 players to fouls, were unable to sustain the momentum in overtime and fell, 107-93, Friday in a championship-bracket semifinal of the Antelope Valley College tournament.
Valley (3-2) plays Riverside at 5:45 p.m. today for third place.
Stephens finished with 28 points and 8 rebounds, Manliguis had 19 points and Oral Elrington added 26 points and 16 rebounds.
Golden West will meet Santa Monica at 7:30 for the championship.
