Slowdown in Building to Cost Chinese Jobs

BEIJING —
Six million construction workers in China could lose their jobs next year because of government cutbacks on new buildings, New China News Agency reported Wednesday.
The agency quoted a Construction Ministry official as saying that many projects would be finished next March and about a quarter of China’s 24 million construction workers would have to find jobs.
