SCALPEL BACKLASH

Regarding “Scalpel Backlash” (Looks column by Paddy Calistro, Oct. 23): At the age of 49, I have earned every line and wrinkle that identifies my face. I intend to keep these. The only time that plastic/reconstructive surgery is called for is when someone has the misfortune of becoming mutilated in a disfiguring mishap. The rest of the time, this surgery is being promulgated by greedy plastic surgeons. If a woman has problems with her image, then she should seek psychological help.
