The Daily News will build a $55-million production plant in Valencia next year, replacing a dated printing plant in Van Nuys, owner Jack Kent Cooke announced. The Woodland Hills-based newspaper said the first presses, providing improved color reproduction and faster printing of late-breaking news, would be running in the new plant by mid-October.
