Marchers in Greece Want U.S. Bases Out

ATHENS — More than 5,000 leftist demonstrators marched through Athens on Sunday calling for the removal of U.S. military bases in Greece.
“Out with the bases of death!” the demonstrators chanted as they marched through the city center and gathered at the foot of Parliament to demonstrate.
Four U.S. bases have operated in Greece since the early 1950s--two near Athens and two on the island of Crete.
