A Nigerian cargo plane prevented by bad weather from landing at Egypt’s Cairo airport ran out of gas and crashed into a small village, killing all eight crew members and a woman on the ground, police said. They said the Boeing 707 carrying flowers en route to Brussels, Belgium, from the Tanzanian capital of Dar es Salaam crashed into the village of Karam Omram, near the city of Luxor and 440 miles south of Cairo. The eight crew members on the plane were killed, along with a 51-year-old woman who lived in the village, police said. A second woman and her four children, who were asleep in their home when the plane crashed, were seriously hurt.
