Micron Technology Inc. said first-quarter profit soared 283% to $32.2 million from $8.4 million a year ago. Revenue increased 155% to $110.4 million. The Boise, Ida.-based computer chip maker said the fiscal 1989 results reflected provisions for a product and process rights pretax expense of $9.9 million and for income taxes of $19.5 million. The year-ago period reflected no such provisions.
