Vreni Schneider of Switzerland edged Spain’s Blanca Fernandez-Ochoa in a slalom for her fourth victory of the season and extended her overall lead in women’s World Cup skiing.

Schneider was one-hundredth of a second faster than Fernandez-Ochoa after the two runs at the foot of Mt. Blanc, at Courmayeur, Italy.
