The Soviet Union has bought an additional 750,000 metric tons of U.S. corn for delivery under a recently extended supply agreement between the two countries, the Agriculture Department said today.

The latest sales brought total corn sold to the Soviets to 8.78 million tons in the agreement’s sixth year, which began Oct. 1. Last year, U.S. corn sales to the Soviet Union totaled slightly less than 5.2 million tons.
