Arabs and Jews at Meeting in Stockholm

I want to compliment Kathleen Hendrix on “Mission to Stockholm” (Dec. 16), as fine a piece of reporting as I’ve read in a while. It put you there, step by step, as American Jews found themselves taking on the task of helping break the deadlock over Palestinian recognition of Israel--by meeting Yasser Arafat face to face.

If peace is achieved eventually, because of the new dialogues now begun, Stanley Sheinbaum and his group will have done more by their actions to help bring it about than scores of tough-talking world leaders over the past 40 years.
