Paul Horowitz, a sports writer for the Newark Evening News for more than 30 years and a former sports editor of Stars & Stripes, died of a heart attack, his daughter said. He was 83.
Horowitz worked for the Newark Evening News from the 1930s until it folded in 1972. He was the sports editor of Stars & Stripes’ European edition during World War II.
