The Soviet Union has bought additional U.S. corn and soybean meal for delivery under a long-term supply agreement between the two countries. Officials said the sales included 600,000 metric tons of corn and 600,000 tons of soybean meal. In a separate announcement, the Agriculture Department said China has bought an additional 200,000 tons of wheat at subsidized prices.
