Trainor Gets Award, Lansford a One-Liner

Kendall Trainor of Arkansas has been named the nation’s outstanding kicker in a vote of National Football League kickers.

Trainor was presented with the Performance Under Pressure Award Friday by kicker Mike Lansford of the Rams. Lansford, noting that Bill Tobin, director of player personnel for the Chicago Bears, had said that Trainor would probably be a high draft choice, told Trainor: “It relieves me that it wasn’t the Rams’ player personnel director who said that.”
