Jamaican singer Eek-A-Mouse’s concert Saturday at the Coach House has been canceled due to travel problems on the performer’s part, according to the club.

Opera Pacific has announced that Russian bass Georgi Selezneev will sing Oroveso in Bellini’s “Norma,” Feb. 11 to 24 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Selezneev, a bass with Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, will make his American debut in the role.

The company also announced that Mark Thomsen instead of the originally scheduled Vincenzo LaScola will alternate with Carroll Freeman as Count Almaviva in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere de Siviglia,” Feb. 17 to 25 at the Center. LaScola has dropped the tenor role from his repertory because he is moving into a heavier voice range, according to Opera Pacific general director David DiChiera.

Thomsen will sing on Feb. 19 (matinee), 22 and 25 (matinee). Freeman will sing on Feb. 17, 19 (evening), 23 and 25 (evening).

Dates for “Elvis: An American Musical” have been revised at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. The show will run March 28 to April 2 as part of the Center’s Broadway Series.

Dates were listed incorrectly in Tuesday’s Calendar because the press had not been advised of the changes, although Center spokesman Richard Bryant said that series patrons were informed of the new dates by mail.

Also from the Center: “Fiddler on the Roof” will be there Aug. 8 to 13. The revival, starring Topol, had been announced earlier as part of the Broadway Series without dates. The show is expected to go on to Broadway after its Center engagement.
