BRUSSELS —
The Belgian government announced Thursday that it will restrict the sales of riot guns, sawed-off shotguns and other modified guns it said are “too dangerous, too widely sold and cause too many deaths.”
A decree to be published Friday will submit the sales of these weapons to a police authorization. Another decree, also to be published Friday, will make it compulsory for people who already own these weapons to register them with police before May 1.
