The American Cinematheque, with a reputation for nabbing the hottest talent-of-the-moment to honor at its Moving Picture Ball each year, will present its life achievement award to director-producer Steven Spielberg on April 1. The glittery event typically attracts the biggest names in Hollywood, from stars to studio executives and agents. This year’s event, already sold out despite ticket prices of $250 to $350, is being underwritten by the New York Times.
