Office, Business Center Started

Construction has begun in Long Beach on a $45-million office/retail project at Lakewood Boulevard and Carson Street.
Developed by McDonnell Douglas Realty of Irvine, the project is being built by Irvine-based Saffell & McAdam Inc. to include 430,000 square feet of commercial space in three buildings and a 2,180-space parking structure.
Two buildings will be occupied by Douglas Aircraft Co., and the third will have restaurants and shops. The project site is across Lakewood Boulevard from Douglas Aircraft’s existing plant.
