Intel Corp.’s 1988 net income jumped a record 83% from the previous year to $453 million. Revenue also rose to a record $2.9 billion, up 53%. The Santa Clara, Calif., maker of microcomputer components, modules and systems attributed the results to foreign sales, which amounted to more than 40% of the company’s revenue; the introduction of key products, including the 386SX microprocessor, and the addition of advanced chip manufacturing plants in Albuquerque, N.M., and Aloha, Ore.
