The new year started with a fiscal bang. In late December the State Board of Equalization released sales and use tax revenues--more than $25 million of which stopped in Orange County cities. The county government was allocated $1.6 million. Costa Mesa, Anaheim and Santa Ana received the largest dispersements. Costa Mesa had the largest per capita amount. Here’s how each city fared (rendered in order of total allocation) followed by a five-county comparison, also based on total monies received:
