South African President Pieter W. Botha, recovering from a slight stroke, will probably leave the hospital early this week and will rest for six weeks, Health Minister Willie van Niekerk said. He said Botha, 73, appears to have made a remarkably speedy recovery. The stroke weakened Botha’s left arm and leg but did not affect his facial muscles or speech. During his illness, Chris Heunis, minister of constitutional development, is acting president.
