STOCKTON — More than 2,000 people attended a Buddhist-Christian memorial service in four languages today for immigrant children gunned down during last week’s schoolyard massacre.
Eulogies were recited in Cambodian, Vietnamese, Laotian and English in front of mourners wearing white-and-black ribbons that honored the cultural traditions of the five victims’ refugee families. Near the close of the ceremony, at 11:45 a.m., organizers observed five minutes of silence. The time corresponded to the time of the attack six days ago.
