The president of Newsweek Inc., Christopher M. Little, has resigned to become president of Cowles Magazines Inc., which publishes history magazines and books. Little, 47, had been president of Newsweek for the past 2 1/2 years. He said he is taking the new job because of his interest in history and the chance to live closer to his Virginia farm. His resignation is effective March 1. Washington Post Co., parent of Newsweek, named no replacement for Little.
