East German Flees West

WEST BERLIN —
An East German bricklayer scrambled over the Berlin Wall early Thursday and reached West Berlin uninjured, police said. A police spokesman said East German border guards spotted the 23-year-old as he escaped from the East Berlin suburb of Pankow to Wedding in West Berlin but did not open fire.
