Amplicon Inc. of Santa Ana posted net income of $2.4 million for the second quarter ended Dec. 31, down 27% from the $3.3 million reported for the comparable quarter a year ago. The 1987 figure includes a $1.4-million credit resulting from a tax accounting change. Revenue for the quarter doubled to $43.1 million from $21.5 million, the best quarterly results in the company’s history. For the first 6 months of the fiscal year, the company reported net income of $4.5 million, an 8% decline from the $4.9 million posted for the first half of fiscal 1987. Revenue rose 69%, to $73.2 million from $43.3 million. Amplicon provides financing for high-technology equipment.
