Nissan Motor Corp. and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission confirmed that they had reached a settlement after a lengthy investigation of employment discrimination. Without admitting wrongdoing, the Carson-based auto maker will pay $605,600 to 92 blacks, Latinos, women and workers over 40. “While we believe we have always upheld the principles espoused by the EEOC, we also recognized there was room for improvement in the way we developed opportunities for protected employees,” Ronald Cabibi, Nissan vice presdient for human resources, said.
