Yugoslav Army Tries TV for Officers

The Yugoslav army has drafted advertising agencies in a bid to boost enrollment in military schools, the daily newspaper Vecernje Novosti said Friday.

“A modern army needs modern propaganda,” Novosti quoted Lt. Col. Miodrag Jeremic as saying. “With the help of well-known advertising agencies, we have made new posters, commercials and films.”

The television commercial, accompanied by rock music, shows exciting and crisply edited shots of soaring jets, alpine troops and commandos leaping from helicopters, with the slogan, “Officer training schools: the road to finding yourself.”
