A federal judge in Miami rejected a request by Eastern Airlines management to block members of the machinists union from walking off the job in a dispute over mandatory overtime work. The ruling by U.S. District Judge C. Clyde Atkins followed short-lived walkouts by groups of International Assn. of Machinist members. The actions came as management and union officials met to resolve the dispute.
