HOTELS/TOURISM : Airline Passenger Traffic Rises at John Wayne Airport for December

Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport climbed 2.8% in December compared to the same month in 1987.

The passenger traffic count was 335,809 in December, 1988, compared to 326,562 a year earlier, according to airport statistics.

Air carrier flight operations showed an increase of 3.1% in December, while commuter airline operations jumped 22.4% when compared to the same levels recorded in December, 1987.

Meanwhile, total passenger traffic for calendar 1988 was off slightly, with 69,125 passengers--or 1.5% less than those recorded the year before.
