Venice : 15 Named to Committee
Westside City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter is appointing 15 residents and business leaders to a new Community Planning Advisory Committee for Venice.
The committee will review development projects proposed for the area as well as other planning issues, collect community comments and advise Galanter. Development issues are always controversial in Venice, and the committee is seen as a way to channel and formalize discussion over different projects.
Members of the committee include community activists, architects, developers and Realtors.
They are Carol Berman, Joan Del Monte, Diana Hobson, Mary Ann Italiano, Mark Mayers, Jim McGlothlin, Martha Platt, Larry Saltzman, Jane Spillar, Arnold Springer, Moe Stavnezer, Iylene Weiss and Victor Wilson. Two additional members will be selected shortly.
Galanter last year appointed a similar advisory panel for the Crenshaw area and plans boards for Mar Vista and the Westchester/Playa del Rey area.
