Those venturing outdoors this weekend may want to dress warmly, since San Diego is in for another chilly weekend.

And maybe you ought to carry an umbrella--just in case.

The storm that brought showers Thursday is weakening and heading east, leaving behind a few showers today.

A cold front from Alaska will arrive this weekend to take its place, causing the temperatures to dip several degrees by Sunday.

“There’s a minimal chance of rain this weekend,” Wilbur Shigehara of the National Weather Service said. “Right now, it doesn’t look too bad for the weekend. It’s a very slight chance of rain. . . . It would be spotty; light showers. We’ll have to keep our fingers crossed.”

Cooling to Continue

Shigehara said he expects the cooling trend to continue into early next week. Farmers may consider frost protection as early as Sunday night, he said.
