Wespercorp, an Irvine-based manufacturer of computer peripherals, reported a loss of $217,000 for the second quarter ended Dec. 31, 1988. It had a loss of $152,000 for the quarter last year. Sales dropped 39% to $555,000 from $907,000. For the first half of the fiscal year, the company reported a loss of $195,000. The loss for the first half last year was $145,000. Sales fell 24% to $1.5 million from nearly $2 million. The company also said it has reduced its work force from 28 to about 20 employees to cut costs.
