World Bank President Barber B. Conable Jr. added his support to an effort by Japan to increase its role in the International Monetary Fund. “There is a general consensus among the major members of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund,” he said, that the Japanese, by their additional contributions, “have earned the right to greater influence.”
