More than 150,000 Ford Motor Co. workers will receive profit-sharing checks of at least $2,800 apiece next month, the second-largest such payout in company history, company executives said. The amount is 10 times more than the profit-sharing payments General Motors Corp. employees will receive and nearly four times as large as the planned payment to Chrysler Corp. workers. The Ford payments, which total $460 million, will be split among workers represented by the United Auto Workers union, some salaried employees and some laid-off and retired workers. They will be mailed by March 6.
