Unbeaten contender Michael Moorer, fighting in his hometown of Monessen, Pa., stopped Frankie Swindell in the sixth round of a light heavyweight fight for his 14th consecutive pro victory.
Moorer, staggered two rounds before by a right hand that closed his left eye, backed Swindell (17-3) into the ropes with a combination, two right hands and a right-hand hook before referee Andy (Kid) DePaul stopped the fight at 2:50 of the sixth round.
