A comatose woman in Manhasset, N.Y., whose family ended her pregnancy in hopes it would improve her chances of recovery, is showing slight improvement since the Feb. 11 abortion, her doctor said. Nancy Klein, 32, who was injured in a Dec. 13 car accident, remains comatose at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. A spokeswoman said Klein’s neurologist, Dr. Robert Karras, found “a certain appearance of slight awareness in her eyes.” Klein’s condition has been upgraded from guarded but stable to stable. Martin Klein, 34, won a lawsuit to be named guardian of his wife and approved the abortion.
