ATHENS — More than 6,000 municipal workers Wednesday began a weeklong strike that will halt garbage collection and leave parks without attendants in the Greek capital.
“If you don’t find a solution . . . Greece will stink!” went the cry from more than 5,000 demonstrators outside the Interior Ministry.
The strike began with a march to press demands for a collective wage agreement and salary increases.
