Marc Girardelli became the first person to win all four skiing disciplines in the same season when he won the final World Cup men’s super-giant slalom at Whistler, Canada.

Girardelli, who was born in Austria and skis for Luxembourg, swept down the 39-gate Whistler Mountain course in British Columbia in 1 minute 39.84 seconds. Lars-Boerje Eriksson of Sweden was second and Pirmin Zurbriggen of Switzerland was third.

Girardelli, who has clinched the World Cup overall title with four technical events remaining in Japan, earlier won three downhills, two giant slaloms and a slalom.
