USA Today readers love “Today” weatherman Willard Scott, who found himself in the eye of a storm this week after a blustery private memo written by the show’s co-host Bryant Gumbel surfaced, charging that Scott is “killing” the program with “whims, wishes, birthdays and bad taste.” In a hot-line poll printed Thursday, the newspaper reported that 27,300 think Scott is a plus to the show, while only 854 said he’s a minus.
