Equal Time on the Tee

Share

In response to a recent letter written by Martha Abell (“A Late Tee Time,” Feb. 26), I was amazed at how she and other women could possibly be upset over the issue of tee times.

I agree that Abell has a point, in that our country has made many great advancements in the equality of rights for women. I also think that it is great that we have women as astronauts and Supreme Court justices. However, I think that men and women in our society also need a little bit of segregation.

I feel that it is totally fair to have certain days of the week where women can’t tee off until a certain time, and it is equally fair for a club to prohibit men from teeing off after a certain time on special days.

These days, with men and women interacting more and more with each other, it is necessary to give the men a day to themselves, as long as the women have the same opportunity.
