A 16-year-old-boy has confessed that he shot a Huntington Beach man, took the body to the beach and set it on fire, police said this morning.

The boy, whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, was booked on suspicion of murder after he confessed Monday to killing 25-year-old Paul Edward Londono last January, Huntington Beach Police Capt. Bruce Young said. Young said the boy and Londono lived together in an apartment on Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach where the shooting occurred.

The youth was arrested at Garfield Avenue and Beach Boulevard on a burglary warrant for a separate incident.

On Jan. 8, at 11:15 p.m., a patrolman spotted Londono’s burning body on a service road 20 feet below the Pacific Coast Highway and one mile west of Golden West Avenue, Young said. Londono’s parents had reported him missing the day before, he said.
