Subway Station Torched

NEW YORK —
As a clerk struggled to read their illegible hold-up note, three would-be robbers on Wednesday doused a South Bronx subway token booth with gasoline and set it ablaze. The fire gutted part of the station and the clerk suffered from smoke inhalation, authorities said.
