Frances Tracy Pennoyer; J.P. Morgan’s Last Surviving Child

Frances Tracy Pennoyer, 92, the last surviving child of legendary Wall Street financier J. P. Morgan Jr. Mrs. Pennoyer, the mother of six, grandmother of 28 and great-grandmother of 31, was born Jan. 17, 1897, to a father and grandfather who were captains of American industry. At one point her father, who assumed leadership of the family banking house on the death of her grandfather, was believed to be worth $500 million. Unlike her brothers, who were sent to Harvard, Pennoyer was educated by governesses, who taught her to speak French, German and Italian fluently. On Saturday in Locust Valley, N.Y.
