Foodmaker, the San Diego-based operator of Jack in the Box and Chi-Chi’s fast-food outlets, has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell $150 million in senior notes.

The proceeds from the offering, which is to be underwritten by Drexel Burnham Lambert, will be used to reduce the company’s bank debt. Foodmaker went private last year in a leveraged buyout led by Foodmaker management.
