Local News in Brief : Jail Term Sought for Convicted Slumlord
- Share via
Los Angeles City Atty. James K. Hahn said he will seek a jail term for a convicted slumlord who failed to meet a deadline for making repairs at a hotel where he served 45 days under house arrest.
The deadline was set by Municipal Judge Carol Boas-Goodson on Jan. 27 when she imposed the house arrest sentence on Aaron Kempe for his failure to comply with an earlier court order to make repairs at the Stratford Hotel at 2629 W. 8th St.
Hahn said a condition of Kempe’s probation was that he make needed repairs at the hotel by last Monday, the end of the 45-day sentence. Inspectors, however, determined that the repairs were not made.
